Electrical Audio

Founder: Steve Albini

Designed with custom adobe brick walls, asymmetric non-parallel geometry, and massive floating concrete floors to maximize natural decay and drum resonance without flutter echo. Albini famously positioned stereo ambient boundary mics 15 feet high on the brick walls to capture the explosive, uncompressed drum room sound that defined hundreds of independent rock releases.

Neurosis – Times of Grace 1999
Shellac – 1000 Hurts 2000

Inner Ear Studios

Founder: Don Zientara

The modest cinderblock and drywall live room became holy ground for American hardcore. Because the space was relatively compact and dry, bands had to play with intense discipline and tightness. Don’s intuitive ear for dynamic range allowed Fugazi to pivot from whisper to hurricane without digital limiting.

Rancho De La Luna

Founder: Fred Drake & Dave Catching

The open-air desert environment and lack of commercial time pressure produced the legendary Desert Sessions series and the psychedelic low-end tone of Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age. Guitars often recorded with room doors open to capture Mojave evening breeze ambience.
