Known as the Godfather of Desert Rock, Masters of Reality frontman Chris Goss championed a freewheeling, organic studio philosophy. He treated the studio not as a commercial machine, but as an open-air psychedelic sanctuary where ambient desert heat and spontaneous jam chemistry dictated the tracks.

Downtuned, tube-saturated fuzz, warm low-end bass frequencies, hypnotic swinging percussion, and vast ambient desert space. Famously dialed in Kyuss’s monumental guitar sound by running Josh Homme’s guitar directly through an Ampeg SVT bass amplifier.
