Butch Vig

Co-founder of Smart Studios and drummer of Garbage. Vig bridged the gap between indie-rock dirt and stadium-sized hooks, proving that underground punk and grunge could dominate global pop charts without sacrificing emotional authenticity.

Heavy multi-tracked guitars layered like orchestral sections, clinical drum tuning with compressed room punch, and crystal-clear vocal tracking that propelled grunge and 90s alt-rock into mainstream stratosphere.
